FRC® is a trademarked system of mobility and joint control training based in scientific principles and research. The majority of these methods work on improving connective tissue architecture rather than solely focusing on the muscles.
Connective tissues exhibit faster signal transmission along nerve fibers than muscles do, therefore they can send information to the central nervous system more quickly.
This is crucial for precise proprioception related to joint position and movement.
In other words, your joint capsules are keeping you safe by telling the muscles to tighten when they believe they've reached the end limits of their usable range.
Flexibility = Passive
The ability to stretch your tissues into a position without active muscle engagement. "Relax into the stretch."
It is possible to be flexible but lack mobility.
Mobility = Active
The ability to actively move joints through a usable range of motion through neurological control and body awareness.
